José Manuel Lopes, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Pathology (Medical Faculty of Porto), Chief Pathologist of Department of Anatomic Pathology (Centro Hospitalar São João) and Senior Researcher at Ipatimup. He is co-author of more than 200 peer-reviewed publications (h factor: 30) and 5 chapters of books. His field of specialization is soft tissue, neuroendocrine, SNC, urologic, melanoma and gynecologic tumors, and dermatopathology. Her research is recently directed towards the understanding of the pathogenesis and molecular pathology of melanomas, renal papillary carcinomas, gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumors and endometrial carcinomas.
